The looming storm

 


Two friends sat in a lounge of a small house,

She sat upright and composed on the settee,

He inclined in her direction on an armchair,

Stillness invaded the room,

Then a flickering of flashes traced its path along the grey blue carpet,

A tree framed by a large window stood enveloped in dark cloud,

“It won’t be long now”, she said.

Seconds passed when the discordant tone of birds revealed nature’s alarm,

While two friends waited in faith and expectation of what was to come… .
